Database Sharing Across Multiple Sites
Introduction
A customer wanted the ability to share their
existing Management System with 5 other remote sites.
Overview
A large beauty treatment company had 6 sites in
total scattered across the South West. They ran their operation from one
office but found that because the other offices couldn’t see the work
schedule mistakes where common (double bookings.) To stem this they faxed a
copy of the schedule over to each office as and when changes happened. The
system was inefficient and error prone.
The main office ran an industry specific treatment practice CRM, Management
and Billing system.
They wanted to maintain control from a single place and couldn’t afford to
purchase and maintain 5 extra servers for each practice to have the
Management System.
Implementation
ICSNET Technology realised early on that their existing CRM
and Billing system was perfect for the clients needs and should be
accessible via the remote offices . We installed an extra server in their
main office to host the package via a specialist Windows Server program -
Microsoft Terminal Server.
This allowed users in all 5 remote offices to be able to connect quickly to
the Management System and update their details in real time.
As a change happened the system alerted the relevant remote office and the
diary was changed for everyone to see.
Mistakes became a thing of the past and as an added bonus they saved a lot
of time by feeding financial data from each remote site straight into the
database instead of one person having to do it in a large often inaccurate
mass.
